Television reporter by day. Superhero vigilante by night. Felicity Hardy has no superpowers but that doesn't stop her from donning a spandex costume and becoming The Scarlet Spider! New York City knows Felicity Hardy as the hot young anchor for a celebrity news show's superhero gossip segment. She asks the hard questions: does Tony Stark wear boxers or briefs in that Iron Man suit? Is vigilanteism dead? Seems like the Golden Age, even the Silver Age, of superheroes is over. They're dwindling, unless she counts those ancient Avengers and their loser kids. She's not getting enough stories and they're going to cut her segment----unless she can titillate audiences with the hottest new superhero with an old twist: The Scarlet Spider. New, edgy, classic. Recognizable. Being an anonymous superhero may not pay the bills, but it sure does bring home the bacon when you're the reporter whose ass is saved by fresh blood in the hero pool.
Felicity Jane Hardy. Age 19. Daughter of Felicia Hardy and Eugene "Flash" Thompson. Sister to Gene Thompson. Half sister to Reilly Fireheart. Felicia now has a longterm lesbian partner named Lucy, but Felicity doesn't accept her as being part of the family.
Sophomore at NYU. Had been majoring in graphic design but is currently undecided. Lives with Ellen Ramsey.
Masquerades as THE SCARLET SPIDER. This is a relatively new development. She's waiting for her big break, her arch nemesis. It's all very glamorous and exciting, and just the way to piss her mother off. Never mind that she completely ripped off the Spidey franchise. That's not important! She hasn't gotten a lot of attention (i.e. any attention) in the press as of yet but things will change if she's persistent. To cover up for her superhero escapades, she's invented a wildly elaborate imaginary story about an Argentinian boyfriend named Felipe who she's always out seeing.
Hung out with Benjy Parker a lot when they were kids. Idolized May Parker. A lot. To the point of hero worship. When May had her brief stint as Spider-Girl, Felicity tried to become her sidekick ... even though Felicity was nine.
Still trying to get May's attention, but now resents her a little for being a police officer and giving up on Spider-Girl.
Is closest with Reilly in her family, letting him treat her like a pretty pretty princess and buy her whatever she wants.
Has no real powers. She's quick, she's agile, and she's trained in martial arts and acrobatics, but she's got no powers. She's designed some pretty sweet weapons to help her out, and she's pretty sure she can get Benjy Parker to make them for her.
